Spend A Charming Time In A French Party

For those who are informed with pop culture, literature regarding witches and wizards are very normal and popular nowadays. I am informed of just how much celebrated the Harry Potter series' is with the children and adults alike. During festivities, I can barely count the number of participants who would turn up as a wizard or any magical creature. Many people find witch costumes a bit youthful and scary, but I do know that most of my friends find sorceress outfits cool and fascinating.

Therefore I was really glad to hear that France holds an annual festival called the Sorcerers' Fair in Bué-en-Sancerre. This town is much celebrated for its tales of magic and sorcery, with legends about former residents who were authorities in magic. To honor their folklore and colorful history, Bué-en-Sancerre holds a celebration for those who want to join in the fun.

Of course, many may just dismiss it as the result of an obsession with the paranormal and magical, but I digress; this is a celebration that should be respected. More than 1500 from many parts of France attend this celebration, and I want to be one of them. It may sound a bit peculiar, but I am hoping to spy a familiar wizard who goes by the label "The-Boy-Who-Lived."

Delectable Berries Gratin as Well-Known French Dessert

Have you ever heard of the trivial quip that says, sweetness can kill? I think so, too, especially if you suffer from diabetes or is intimidated to add extra weight -- all because of your sweet tooth. I tried as hard as I can to rebuff the sweet temptation, but I always fall deep into my guilty pleasures for mouthwatering desserts. For me, the main course will never be complete without the after meal delight that drains the heavy feeling from a rewarding cuisine. Lucky for me, I finally uncovered a way not to resist the temptation but at least, to lay my hands off the over-coated delicious desserts.

At a pub near the Eiffel Tower, I ordered the berries gratin from the menu and was satisfied to know that fruits and not pure sugar are in this French dessert. I relished the fruity fillings of fresh raspberries and cherries that made way for a soft sensation to my mouth. I love the colorful combination but much more, the fine mix of flavors because of the sour cream and the vanilla syrup. Opposites do attract when what you have is a sweet and sour perfection from this sumptuous French cakes and pastries. Of course, I can't have berries gratin all the time, so I try to get easy on the carbs and normally have fresh slices of fruits as nutrient-rich alternatives.

French Fashion Week Accomplished In Foreign Land

Would it come as a bewilderment to you if I said a handful of high-end street labels in Paris are actually lacking in profits? It would clearly concern me, no question about it! France, Paris distinctively, has always been a leader in the fashion scene since Napoleon's era. Together with London, Milan, and New York, it is a outstanding member of the Big Four, a group of the greatest fashion houses in the world.

To help solve the problem, French fashion houses are partnering with young designers and international Fashion Week hosts to support their plummeting industry. As of now, no one is sure how this ensued, but investors are affirmative that French fashion will get back on its feet in no time. The young designers they have partnered with are utilizing the classic styles of French fashion pioneers such as Yves Saint Laurent and many others. In the local scene, young designers are assembling fashion shows in an updated aura to be alluring to the fashion elite. In the international scene however, French-based fashion shows are being staged in various countries in partnered with the local French embassy. I hope everything works out just pleasantly with what they all have put up. It sure is a misfortune to see the leader in fashion slump, but I doubt it will ever do so.

A Spectacular Hotel In The Breathtaking City Of Romance

As a first time visitor to the beautiful territory of France, one of the things that I was concerned of was finding a comfortable quarters nearby. My itinerary included the well-known avenue des Champs-Élysées, a wide drive in Paris that has luxury shops, cafes, and cinemas that cater to the rich and the well-known. A quarters that caught my eye was the Hotel Pavillon Monceau, which was conveniently seen just several minutes away from Champs-Élysées.

Upon entering, I was amazed and surprised at the marvelous yet charming lobby that showcases traditional French style. Instead of being too imposing and formidable, the neighborhood basked in a red glow of coziness and warmth that was something I did not expect. Even the accommodations were tastefully outfitted to include amenities and fixtures that just made me want to shout in delight! The helpful receptionist told me that the buffet was available in the lounge but I can elect to take a continental food upstairs in my room. I settled to take my breakfast upstairs during my first morning there as it seemed like a sound idea for me.

At first, I had reservations that the said quarters was too pricey for me to stay in. However, I found to my bewilderment, that the price was objective enough, considering the quality of the service and ambiance. Overall, the Hotel Pavillon Monceau is a sound place to stay when on a trip in France.
